History of the Ella Floyd-Jones Carscallen Print
This rare historic photographic art print shows a full-view image of Ella Floyd-Jones Carscallen on her wedding day. She wears a white taffeta wedding frock embroidered in chiffon roses with a veil of old rose-point lace held with orange blossoms. She holds a bouquet of white orchids and lilies of the valley.
The original image is a sepia-toned photograph dated 1919 and signed "Campbell Studios." According to our research, in 1919 Campbell Studio was a division of Broadway Photographs, and served the silent film industry, vaudeville, and leading socialites of that era.
Long lost to the public, this historic photograph was rediscovered in the 1980s, and digital prints of the original were created at Bay Shore Photography in 1989. A photo print was placed into the permanent collection of the New York Historical Society in 1989, and a subsequent photo print into the National Archives of Ireland in 1993.
A new digital master from the original photograph was made in 2007 by Glenn Castellano, senior photographer of the New York Historical Society. Color Images Lab of Long Island created photo prints from the digital master in 2008, using premium Kodak paper.
This 8 ½" by 11" sepia-tone museum-quality historic photographic print with matte finish is sold with a numbered Certificate of Authenticity. Watermark not included.
